ABOUT

Hi there! Nice to meet You!

I'm Daiga - a crochet enthusiast and full-time mom. I am crocheting for about 20 years and only after my babies twins were born I discovered my joy for creating crochet patterns! I created my first "official" pattern in March 2018, so I am still fresh in the designers shoes. I hope to share these beauties with other crochet lovers, just like me!

How my patterns are born?

From idea to publishing the patterns travel a long journey and sometimes it takes weeks or months till you see it.
  • Idea
Sometimes it starts from a rather specific idea what result I want but sometimes I just take any yarn, a hook and try something new, something different. Some patterns samples are born in few hours but sometimes it takes days and weeks until I get the creation that I am happy about.
  • Pattern sample
After I try the idea and I am happy about the result it's about time to make a pattern sample. It happens that I have to make the corrections at this point as well and I have to re do my sample even few times.
  • Writing the pattern, chart, creating video tutorial
First step is to write the pattern and it is not always as easy as it looks. Sometimes to crochet is easier than to write/to read the pattern. Sometimes I create short video tutorials, but the longer and detailed videos I kindly ask professional's help. I understand that not everybody can read the patterns and even if they do a visual demonstration at some points might be very helpful.
  • Testing the pattern
All my patterns are tested by volunteers testers from Ravelry. I really appreciate their hard work and they help me to "polish" the pattern not only to be without mistakes but as easy as possible to understand as well!
  • Written pattern corrections
I correct the written pattern taking into consideration testers advises and mistakes they noticed (if any)
  • Publishing the pattern
And finally after all those steps above are completed I can publish the pattern on my blog and Ravelry.
  • Let crocheters know
I post my published patterns on Ravelry and my group at Facebook and other crochet fans groups so all you can try them and create your own beauty!
And all this I can do only when my babies are sleeping.... no other way ;)
